Hotel Corto Maltes is (was) part of the history of Playa Del Carmen, This sleepy cabana hotel is now beautiful, beachfront condos, The Corto Maltes Condos. On the beach, next to the Blue Parrot bar this cabana hotel goes back a long way.  I remember in 2003 a night when the fire throwing, dancing Mayan entertainer at the Blue Parrot lost one of his tourches.....  burned down the bar and the roofs off a couple of the cabanas...  oh well.

Hotel Cortes Maltes and the Paseo del Sol  are both owned and operated by the same company. Corto Maltes Condos opened for the in time for the 2007/2008 season. You can book these upscale additions condos now on the beach in Playa Del Carmen.
